Just Beachy
I can’t begin to describe the gorgeousness of Kristen and Brandon’s intimate beach wedding.
Talk about doing it right. The flowers, the dresses, the decor…everything was spot on. And THE LIGHT. I love light. Color me smitten with a sunset ceremony.
I always like to mention my favorite part of every wedding I do, and for this one, it was the way Kristen kept looking at Brandon all night long. It makes my heart SWELL.

No shame in her game
I am a firm believer that every bride should include one of these sessions as a part of their wedding photography package. With the pressure of the big day out of the way the bride is able to relax, have fun and take her sweet time with her portraits… (BONUS you get to put your wedding gown on again and get all dolled up), and we are able to capture images like these! I find that having a bridal or day after session scheduled also helps the wedding day run more smoothly. Bridal sessions can be done either before the wedding, ( traditional bridal sessions are done beforehand and are a great trial run to test out your hair, makeup, shoes, etc.) or afterward as a fearless bridal or trash the dress session ( especially nice if you are super nervous about getting that dress dirty before the main event). Either way having this big chunk of portraits reserved for another day takes a lot of pressure off of the bride on her wedding day. There’s no rushing through portraits to hurry to the reception, no fake or tired smiles, and no settling for a location or time that is simply convenient on the day of the wedding.
As for the “fearless” aspect, Mrs. Megan Adams filled that role quite nicely. I got a text shortly before we were supposed to meet asking if I wanted a Starbucks ( I don’t think I’ve ever turned down a coffee) and I graciously accepted. A few minutes later I send Megan a text asking “Are you about to roll up to Starbucks in your wedding gown?!” “Sure am” she replied, “No shame in my game”. That’s when I knew it was going to be a great session. We braved fire ants and sand spurs, climbed and perched on various structures, and I may or may not have fallen on my butt a couple of times…but that’s what being a fearless bride is all about, and how we end up with gorgeous images like these.

The sweetest thing
“It’s my parents 43rd wedding anniversary” Annie informed me, ”and I’d like to schedule a family session with the two of them, myself, and my sister. ” I thought it was the sweetest thing, for these girls to come up with such a meaningful and special gift to give to their parents. I couldn’t think of a more perfect way to celebrate the occasion! I kept thinking throughout their session about how beautiful they all were together. What an accomplishment for these two. I think about how hard marriage is and am filled with so much respect and admiration for them. And they have brought up two beautiful and thoughtful young women. Every time I looked at these sisters I thought of my own little girls ( they are the same age apart) and imagined how they will be 20 years from now! I guarantee I am doing my best to raise them as well as Mr. and Mrs. Lively have raised their girls. I hope one day I myself will have a portrait just like one of these hanging above my fireplace. Lively family, it was an honor document this occasion for you, Happy Anniversary!

Feeling the LOVE!
Meet Jodi and Mitch, two lovebirds from Illinois who made their way to Pensacola Beach this May to tie the knot!
It was my absolute pleasure to capture the day for them, from the colors to the catering I couldn’t imagine everything being any more perfect for these two. But I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, my absolute favorite part of this wedding was all of the LOVE you could feel in the air. Maybe its because I myself am a mid-western girl at heart that I felt some sort of connection with these two families coming together…but I think anyone bearing witness would have to agree that you could simply FEEL THE LOVE!
Here’s a glimpse into their special day…
Can you feel it too?

Southern Hospitality
It’s no secret that when I get busy, my blog is the first to suffer, and it’s evident from my lack of posts that I’ve been swamped! It seems I convince myself that I don’t have the time to put into actually writing a clever entry, but what the heck do I need all of those words for anyway, I’m a photographer right?! I can just let the pictures speak for themselves! So, for your viewing pleasure, I present to you a glimpse into a stunning southern affair, celebrating the nuptials of Mr. and Mrs. McElroy!

It’s all in the DETAILS!
I think it’s safe to say that one’s wedding day is one of the most important days in one’s life. You spend months, years even, planning every little detail of this special moment in time until everything is JUST SO. When the big day comes around, (Oh my gosh it’s ACTUALLY HERE!!!), it’s so easy to get caught up in all the excitement, the anticipation, the EXPERIENCE, that as the bride and groom you often don’t get the chance to stop and appreciate how everything has come together. One of my favorite things to photograph at a wedding are the details. I love to capture all of the special little features that the couple have worked so hard to perfect.
Marisa and Austin’s intimate beach affair was chock FULL of these wonderfully yummy details. Here are a few of them for your viewing pleasure! If you want to see more of Marisa and Austin’s big day, check out their gallery at http://www.jamphotography.smugmug.com, I will be adding photos daily!
